Split Ring

How do you make a split-ring commutator?

We're making a DC motor using a split-ring commutator for a high school physics class. What is the simplest motor we can build and how do we do it?

Of course, physics.... sure... if u were say using a DC motor for extracurricular uses, then yes use a split-ring, because it is more effective for your pleasures in this "expierement" persay. :)
ok, on grounds of "How do we do it" it is quite simple. Here is the basics.
1. Obtain necessary parts(long rod is preferred, a short one would suffice however it is less effective in movement.)
2. find a nice "workplace" to get it done, something maybe scented, or dimly lit always sets the mood well.
3. Insert the rod into the split ring
4. turn on
5. Results should be satisfactory. "Persay"
