Refinishing a hardwood floor?
One of the previous owners of our house glued their foam carpet pad to beautiful hardwood floors. Now I'm trying to get all that glue and a thin layer of black foam off. Does anyone know an efficient way to do this?
I GUARANTEE THIS WORKS.
Use Acetone and a rubber scraper. Pour some acetone on the area and scrape quickly. Wipe with a cloth and repeat wherever necessary.
Both are inexpensive and available at any hardware store. Just make sure you have the area pretty well ventilated before starting. That's all you need, and it will work wonders.
We always do this prior to refinishing/sanding any floor anyway as the glue and padding will foul any sander and/or its paper/drum.
