can a male pheasant and a chicken mate?

i heard u can cross breed booth animals and the result will give a rooster like bird that is very agile and fast. Im guessing u can use regular ring neck pheasant and a game chicken not a egg laying chicken. is this true? and do u have to introduce them at a early age in their live?

, From what I understand, these hybrids are sterile. Just like mixing horses and donkeys, you get a mule, which cannot reproduce. I have seen pics of the pheasant/chicken cross. It's not a very attractive bird.

100% of offspring will be sterile. The ones produced wouldn't even lay eggs. used a Ringneck male and a game hen to produce , but I have heard that true Aracaunas (rumpless & tufted,not mutts) are good to use also. Only about 20% of the eggs hatched from the initial cross.
