How much would this be worth/what is it?
I have these old pictures of rome is seems like. They are in wooden, dark stained frames. They seem to be pressings or like the wood cutouts, because they are cool pictures, of the coluseaum and stuff, and i can see where it was pressed in, there are indentations in the paper around the picture. The paper seemed to be once folded, and they have an inscription below and in the top right hand corner it says TOM XXII. are these worth anything?
Your pictures, the way you describe them as having "indentations in the paper" sounds like they could be etchings.
Two numbers are often written at the edge of an etching print; the first indicates the print place in the order of all prints in the edition; the second number indicates the total number of prints for that type of numbering in the edition.
You can find professional fine art appraisers in the Yellow Pages (under "appraisers") to help you find out how much they are worth.
I would suggest to handle them with care, keep them out of sun light and don't remove from frames until you have them appraised. They should be worth more if they are etchings rather than offset lithographs. Good luck, I hope this helps.
